A CD/DVD drive is almost completely necessary, as a lot of information is still transferred by disks. Besides, I'm planning to install my OS using the CD/DVD drive. I am not a user of Blu-Ray, so I did not need a read/write drive with Blu-Ray support. With not too much thought, I decided with
LITE-ON's i-HAS424, which is a 24x CD/DVD sata drive. It reads everything I need it too, and it is made by a company I've worked with before.
